Ingeteam’s Ingepac EF MD relays to protect Taweelah Power Station (UAE) Distribution Grid

Ingeteam will supply its Multifunction Relay Ingepac EF MD model to protect Taweelah Power Station’s Distribution Grid during their upcoming upgrade project. The Ingepac EF MD has been selected as the most suitable solution for the retrofit project thanks to its compact size, multifunction capabilities and user friendly configuration and operation which will minimize project execution time whilst providing full compliance with the end user’s requirements.

The project will be executed by Ingeteam’s partner Delta Star PPS, who will provide re-engineering, relay replacement and adaption, solution configuration and protection testing commissioning services. Delta Star has a group of highly skilled engineers that can provide any protection related service, from relay setting and coordination studies to field protection testing and commissioning.

The Taweelah Power Station complex has been developed for the installation of 3,000MW of power and 300MIGD of water. It is located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), approximately half way between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai and situated on a projection of land jutting into the sea and allows intake and discharge of large volumes of sea water. Taweelah Power Station is owned by ADEWEA (60%), the government authority responsible for the water and power industries in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi , TOTAL (20%), the fifth largest publicly-traded integrated international oil and gas company in the world,  and Tractebel - GDF Suez (20%), one of the leading energy providers in the world.
